AGE CARE ASSOCIATION GIVE DONATION TO A WORTHY CAUSE
Age Care is very proud to have an association with the convent “ Casa de Sagrada Corozon” The Institution of the Sacred Heart in Malaga and give them a donation of 1000 € to help them continue with their good work. The founder of the convent was Sister Rosario Villalonga Lacave 50 years ago and after her death in 1991 Sister Isabela took over the establishment as Sister Superior. It is residential and can accommodate 45 people of all ages but the majority are elderly and many in need of care, love and attention. Some are nearing the end of their lives, some are recovering from illnesses and all are cared for by volunteers who support the Convent in a variety of ways. All funds necessary to keep the establishment operating is raised by fund raising activities and donations. It is well supported by volunteers.
The donation was presented by Lesley Berridge who is a Age Care volunteer Welfare Team Leader at Calahonda to volunteer Rafaelita who with her husband are responsible for the day to day running of the charity.
