CHARITY SHOP VOLUNTEERS
Most volunteers who work in the shop environment give one day a week but there are some who do two days each week. They are always cheerful and helpful and do so many different tasks to keep the shop operating efficiently. They not only help customers, they serve, sort and organise goods. They put an appropriate price on donated items; iron and keep the shop and goods clean and tidy.
Some work in the book shop which sells many other items. They sort, organise, price and keep the shop operating like a well run library. All the books written by individual authors are kept together, so if you wanted a book by a particular author, they can direct you to that section where you can choose a book of your choice. Books are also sorted into different genres, so if you required to browse educational or children’s books for example, they are easily found. The volunteers are always helpful and cheerful.
The shops are managed by Carol and Natalie, who both give a lot of their time willingly in the shop. They were two of the original shop volunteers when the first charity shop was opened in Los Jarales, Calahonda.
They consequently have a wealth of experience in running the Charity Shop for Age Care.
